The Absinthe Frappé is an absinthe-based cocktail recipe that was created in the 1800s before the spirit was banned in many countries in 1912. This variation was adapted from The Essential Cocktail Book by the editors of PUNCH and Megan Krigbaum.

Absinthe Frappé Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients
 1 oz Absinthe
 1 oz Chilled Water
 ½ oz Homemade Simple Syrup (Click for Recipe)
 1 Lemon Wedge

Add absinthe, water, simple syrup, and cubed ice to a shaker.

Shake for 10-20 seconds.

Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh crushed ice.

Top with more crushed ice as needed.
