The Whiskey Sour is a whiskey-based cocktail recipe that was first published in The Bartenders Guide by Jerry Thomas in 1862. This variation was adapted from The Essential Cocktail Book by the editors of PUNCH and Megan Krigbaum.

Whiskey Sour Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients
 2 oz Bourbon
 ¾ oz Lemon Juice
 ½ oz Homemade Simple Syrup (Click for Recipe)
 ½ oz Egg White
 3 drops Orange Bitters
 1 Cherry

Add bourbon, simple syrup, orange bitters, lemon juice, and cubed ice to a shaker.

Shake for 10-20 seconds.

Remove ice from shaker.

Dry shake for 5-10 more seconds to emulsify egg.

Strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with cherry.
