Piña Colada

about this

The Piña Colada is a blended tropical cocktail credited to Ramón Marrero of San Juan, Puerto Rico's Caribe Hilton in 1954.

The original recipe was based on the Piña Fria, a refreshing Cuban pineapple slushy. It became a staple at bars when it was mentioned in two hit songs in the late 1970s.
